Kihei, Hawaii is located on the south side of Maui and is the location of inviting Kihei bed and breakfasts. Kihei is home to the annual Whale Day Celebration. This festival lasts all day and is free to the public. It includes live music, great food from local restaurants, activities for kids as well as a parade, located close to the B&Bs. Also, Kihei is host to the Maui Film Festival each year during the month of June. This festival draws in quite a crowd of locals and tourists alike. It includes discussions, special dinner banquets and a gala to signify the end of the festival. After a day of activities relax at a Kihei inn. Kahei has a wonderful tourist attraction called Blue Water Rafting. This service allows tourists to explore all of the hidden caves and lava arches while snorkeling, rafting and diving. Another attraction Kahei has to offer is the Maui Eco Tours. This tour also allows you to snorkel and dive and also offers kayaking, whale watching and a unique lesson in the coral reefs of Hawaii. One restaurant Kahei locals love is Roy's. Roy's is a restaurant you will find all over the islands of Hawaii. They sample authentic island food, and strive to use only local, organic ingredients. Another restaurant Kahei tourists might like to try is Humuhumunukunukuapua'a. As odd as the name may sound, this restaurant is truly a spot for the romantic and exotic group. The restaurant is named after the state fish of Hawaii. This restaurant literally floats in the lagoon and offers local fare such as lobster and fresh fish.
